I'm Still Here!!!!

Hello Life After Amway followers! I know it’s been a few months since my last post, but I had to make some choices about where to put my creative energy.  I started my second book, revamped the Life After Amway screenplay, and gave my first book what I hope to be a final round of rewrites. A shout out to my literary agent Jeff Ourvan at the Jennifer Lyons Literary Agency for his continued belief in me and my work.

I’m also working on a television pilot I’ve written, getting back in front of the camera and I have continued my work with GLSEN-NYC and Life After Bullying to make our schools a safe place for all.  I truly miss writing editorial pieces and blogging! There’s so much happening in the world that I want to write about.  Bans on gay marriage getting struck down left and right, The Rights for Religious Freedom bill having been vetoed in Arizona, the Chris Christie scandal, and the horrific, inhuman crimes against my gay brothers in Uganda.  My prayers are with you.
However, I have been inspired by a new wave of articles about a subject I touched on in my last piece, AIDS in New York: Then & Now.  It’s the issue of judgment within the gay community towards those who are HIV positive.  It’s been a growing divide between negative and positive and those with the virus are looked at as everything from sick to stupid, unworthy, less than and unsexy and damaged goods.  Please take a moment to read these articles so well written by my fellow writers for the Huffington Post.  This is not how it’s supposed to be and this is not how it’s always been.We need a change in perspective in the gay community.

And finally, today I have the great honor of joining the So Gay So What campaign! Founder, and friend, Darren Melchiorre has invited me to strike a pose in their new ad. 10am photo shoot this morning, can't wait! "Like" their Facebook page to follow the great work this organization is doing and look for me in their upcoming ads!

It feels great to post on my blog again!  Thank you for all of your support and reading my work. It’s what gets me up in the morning.

  1. Hi James so I have a question so did you do Amway? I ask because yes am a lesbian and I have my partner and we been invited to this opportunity is just that sometimes I get overwhelmed because idk if we mite get look at weird and I would want to take my couple to a place were she don't feel comfortable. All I really know is that we have a dream to persist to and to have determination.
